Miss Pettiegrew is only of my favourite books, so I hope you enjoy it! I'd really recommend having a poke about in the catalogue of Persephone Books, who publish it as they specialise in often forgotten 20th century female novelists, many of whom write elegant british books. :) I've recently read and enjoyed "A House in the Country" by Jocelyn Playfair.

As for the hat, perhaps donate it to somewhere like Age Concern or Help the Aged because if anyone needs a lovely warm hat right now, it's the elderly!

(also, hello! Found your blog via Ellie the hand knitted pirate and am enjoying reading your posts!)

Send it to Michelle Obama, or knit a second one and send them to the Obama girls, along with your post about what the US elections and Obama's win means to you, Danish woman in Scotland. :-)
