Wow, I have managed a staggering 14 of those books (with around 5 more unread on my shelves). And I agree wholeheartedly on Mr. Eggers … one of the few books I have actually physically thrown across the room in disgust. *grumble*

I’d read six of these which was more than I expected and, where possible, I agree with you wholeheartedly. Especially Dave Eggers. His mere existence kind of spoils my day.

Tee hee, I felt the same way about The Da Vinci Code, which I guess means I’m taking A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius off my list. I got about 50 pages in and didn’t want to read any more, but I felt I had to so I could properly defend myself against those who think it is the best book they’ve ever read.
