Your decision to rip has made me think again about my current socks. One of them is so incredibly fussy that it embarrasses me - who am I trying to impress?! And the other one is for my husband, who just wants warm feet, so why am I fiddling about with a yarnissima pattern and taking forever to get anywhere? Much better to go for something simple and striking and wearable!

Your sock looks lovely.

I once spent the duration of the summer Olympics in Denmark and was surprised to find that the only sports covered seemed to be weightlifting and ping pong.

I can imagine British winter Olympics coverage is similarly quirky. Whenever I catch it, it seems to be one of the sports where we're hoping to come in the top 15.
