About Karie

blogprofKarie is a published writer and a keen photographer. She hails from Denmark originally and holds two Danish university degrees. Nowadays she lives in the leafy, bohemian West End of Glasgow, Scotland with her partner David.

Her academic interests include print culture, modernist poetry and the emergence of English as a literary language. She is also interested in typography, artists’ books and collects early 20th Century paperbacks as well as signed Alasdair Gray first editions.

Her non-academic interests include 1940s and 1950s Hollywood musicals, found objects, New Zealand culture, and the Eurovision Song Contest.

Recently Karie rediscovered knitting which has taken over her life (and, some would say, the living room). She prefers natural fibres to man-made one, enjoys fine-gauge knits, and is at her happiest when she is learning a new technique.

Fourth Edition is Karie’s fourth weblog. She has been blogging since 2001 and has no intention of stopping.
